Review·Marketing & Sales

I bought Explee for email. I am less keen on the meeting.

The prospecting turned out to be useful too. I am still looking for a path that fits a small SaaS and a founder who prefers writing.

On Explee's dark FAQ page, the accordion question What happens when a prospect replies? is expanded, and a red hand-drawn oval circles the answer paragraph stating that replies land in the Explee inbox, where the agent answers questions and moves interested prospects toward a call, and that adding a booking link routes meetings straight to the calendar with Calendly, Cal.com, and HubSpot Meetings supported. Other collapsed questions such as What do I need to get started?, How much does it cost?, and Is cold email even allowed? remain closed above and below, beneath a header showing Products, Pricing, and a Dashboard button.
Fig. 1Explee’s public FAQ describes replies being handled in its inbox, with interested prospects moved toward a call and a booking link.

What I tried

I have already paid for Explee. I came with my own way of finding email addresses and mainly wanted to use it for sending: taking care of email warm-up was the attraction. As I used it, I found its own contact discovery very good too. That gave me a reason to use more of the product than I had originally intended.

Where I got stuck

The part I have not worked out is what happens at the end. The flow points toward booking a meeting. I can see why that would suit a product with a high enough price to justify a sales call, but I have not yet found how to make it work for a small SaaS like mine. There is a personal mismatch too: I am very introverted and really dislike meetings. Writing in English is fine. Speaking it is much harder for me, and I have a strong accent. A booked call is not automatically the outcome I want.

One thing I'd change

I would like a clearer path for small SaaS products that does not end in a meeting. Let me choose a self-serve signup, a trial, or a conversation by email as the goal, and shape the outreach and follow-up around that. If some of this is already possible, show me how to set it up. I want to put the prospecting and sending to work without having to become a different kind of salesperson.

Would I pay

Yes. I have already paid. The sending setup was what brought me in, and the contact discovery added value I had not expected. What I still need to figure out is how to turn that value into customers for my small SaaS without making meetings the finish line.
